The variation in smartphone designs have always been one of the attractive features for consumers causing a great pull to buy them. Whenever we feel a little pause in features and designs, some new invention always strikes us and results in captivating the market for a good time period.
The same happens when dual screen smartphones like Microsoft Surface Duo was introduced, likewise, we haven’t forgotten Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and LG Wing yet.
In 2021, LG has again thrown something very amazing towards their customers in the name of Rollable smartphones this time. Just a year back this concept was heard like a murmuring that something is cooking under the hood of LG, but what exactly it was, wasn’t even succeed to get out.
However, finally at CES 2021, LG has announced their very first Rollable smartphones.
Whether to expect a mass production or we are only going to get a hundred trial piece distribution to early bookers, is still not uncovered. But LG has declared its accessibility before the year ends. Although we anticipate its entry in mid of this year, because before any other company spell there bound, LG want to retain their own on the public.
What does LG Rollable Smartphone look like?
Say Rollable Smartphone, how does it feel? What idea does appear into your mind?
I tell you, for me when I haven’t seen this device, I thought it must be something that must get rolled, but how it’s gonna be, is really pricking me. Would it be having creases? Is it very slim or is it going to cut off the trend of thin profile smartphones?
These are the questions popping up in my mind continuously until I found out that actually it’s an EXPANDING and CONTRACTING mechanism on an OLED screen. There are absolutely no hinges, nor having creases neither are dual screens. You are actually having a smartphone at the same time as a tablet as well.
It is expected to have up to 7.4 inches wide expansion of the display at 2428×1600 resolution, although on a default size of 6.8 you have 1080p resolution. It is basically welcoming the concept of a smartphone transformation into a tablet. Which is capable of turning into a standard size of smartphone according to the consumer preference in real time.
Since there is no real image we have found, but an introductory ideal image has been introduced by the company, there are still a lot of things which are missing and it’s not clear to say anything about it. And we don’t want to spoil this idea before its arrival by our guesses.
According to the rumors, it is less likely to have physical controls over the screen, like home screen buttons we are usually accustomed with. Everything is going to be controlled via software within it.
One thing is very clear, sadly, you are not going to get a front camera, the rear camera is although in a vertical alignment, besides if they make changes in the design, is another thing.
The nutshell is, this is an introductory concept with a very little information followed by the teaser by LG at CES 2021. Not only this, how much it will cost is also under the veil. Nevertheless, this innovative design is something very alluring and getting eyes from everywhere around the globe before even its arrival in the market. Due to this, we must say, the flagship smartphones are under pressure and are battling in their own nerves to do something out of the box soon.
